GABRIEL LACKTMAN
Gabriel Lacktman is an American artist and designer. After living in the North, South, East and West, Los Angeles has been his home for more than a decade. With a formal education from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Lacktman spends his days Art Directing within the fashion and apparel industry. He continually designs t-shirt graphics for major retailers including Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Target, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Walmart, BackCountry.com, R.E.I., Old Navy, and many more. His client list includes Levi’s, TOMS Shoes, Disney, Live Nation, Parks Project, Dickie's, and Coca Cola.
From 1996 to 2013, Lacktman made his mark in the world of graffiti and street art, exhibiting both sanctioned and unsanctioned murals. While his street art adorned the sides of buildings, his fine art was showcased on gallery walls in group and solo exhibits across Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Kansas City and Florida. Lacktman’s work, under alias, has been published in books and magazines such as Stay Up! Los Angeles Street Art, Angeleno Magazine, L.A. Canvas, Nylon Magazine, Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine, and more.
In 2012, Lacktman joined the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club and repurposed his journey, evolving from a wall-tagging street artist to a proponent of the leave-no-trace ethic. He is an instructor of the Wilderness Travel Course and outings leader within the San Gabriel chapter of the Sierra Club. He recently started his own portal for adventure, writing, artwork, apparel and accessories called FOREVER OUTSIDE.
